It's almost here...

When my countdown began after my last final, there were 58 days between me and Australia. 58 long days of no class and few work hours that felt like 58 years. But now, as  I sit here 5 days away from hopping on my plane to Sydney, I'm completely unprepared. Although I have had all of this time to pack, plan, prepare, re-pack, and re-plan, I've just been too excited to even start the practical tasks. I've spent large amounts of my time looking at Google images of Australia and searching "Australia" on Pinterest instead. I've forgotten more than once that one of the reasons (okay, maybe the "main" reason) I'm going is school and have compiled such an unrealistic list of places to see and things to do across all of Australia. As I sit here on a Wednesday night reminding myself that I leave for L.A. Saturday morning and should begin packing, I couldn't help but spend an hour, or two, narrowing down my list.

So, here it is...my official very narrowed down study abroad bucket list:
         1.      Swim with whale sharks at Ningaloo Reef
         2.      Adventure the outback--Uluru (Ayers Rock), Kata Tjuta, and Kings Canyon
         3.      View Melbourne from the Sky Deck---If I'm brave enough, step into "The Edge"
         4.      Skydive
         5.      Snorkel the Great Barrier Reef
         6.      Do the Grand Pacific Drive, Sydney/Melbourne Coastal Drive, or the Great Ocean Road drive
         7.      See a show at the Sydney Opera House
         8.    Visit New Zealand
         9.    Go snow skiing at Mt. Buller
        10.  Eat some Kangaroo and other Australian foods
        11.  Learn how to surf

12.  Walk the Bay of Fires in Tasmania and see the Tasmanian devil

        13.  Camp under the stars in the Blue Mountains or the Outback
        14. Conquer the Sydney Harbour Bridge Climb
        15. Win a crab race at Scubar (A bar I found on google maps near my apartment)
